41 Of The Arrested In Saturday’s Demonstrations In Downtown San Jose Freed

Of the 44 arrested during yesterday’s demonstrations against Nicaraguan migration, only 3 remain detained. This was confirmed by the Fiscalía (Office of the Prosecutor in a Tweet this Sunday.
For its part, the Ministerio de Seguridad Pública said that all detainees were processed, “They were identified, notice of their detention given and given an appointment with the Fiscalia.”
The Minister of Security, Micheal Soto, in an unusual conference from Government House on Saturday, said that “the judicial records of the detainees were analyzed and it turned out that the majority had a criminal record.”
The minister added that many of the people who provoked acts of violence are described as members of ‘barras’ (hooligans at sports events) and followers of Nazi and anarchist ideologies.
