A tour guide disappeared in Manzanillo and his body was only found later. Following a kayaking accident this past Saturday, the two tourists that were with him were rescued by locals. Strong waves prevailed throughout the day making the search and rescue operation difficult.
The group was dragged into the sea. They were calmly kayaking in the lagoon, just 100 meters from the coast, and then were pulled 2.5 miles out. Four locals saw this happen and went in a small rowboat to help them.
The tourists, a Hungarian man and English woman, were found and brought to safety. Coastguards, the Red Cross and the Public Force participated in the search for the guide, identified as 32-year-old Pablo Rodríguez Rojas.
