An error in the National Theater’s budget affected the prize winners of the Festival of Choreographers terribly. There was a delay in the delivery of money meant to send the winning artists to an artistic residency in Mexico.
One of the winners was able to go, paying the plane ticket with the help of his family but he was left in Mexico without the money promised to cover his stay. The other missed the trip, unable to pay the flight.
It was in September that Andrés Martínez and Álvaro Murillo earned their spots at the Center for Choreographic Research and at the National School of Classical and Contemporary Dance in Mexico. By October they should have had the prize money.
