Power of unions to be curbed in Costa Rica public sector

Early in September, a bill to control strikes in Costa Rica’s public sector will become law, thus quashing the power of the trade unions to mount protests.

Such essential services as those of the police, public health, energy and water can no longer be halted for even a minute, La República reports in Spanish.
